The romance which rapidly develops between this story's two main characters -- Bay and Maddy -- is soon threatened by the dark urban fantasy side of each -- he is a dragon and she is a "Niteclif", a supernatural super-detective. Maddy's sleuthing prowess is taxed to the max as she attempts to uncover the complex and dangerous mystery in which she becomes embroiled -- and is almost killed. Her mission is super-important: the rulership of the supernatural realm is at stake!
If you have heard of dark urban fantasy but are not sure what it means, reading this book is a good way to find out. And it will be an enjoyable experience: the story is fast-paced and replete with good dialogue and character interaction and humor in a suspenseful and intriguing milieu.
We welcome Denise Tompkins to the burgeoning Southside literary scene, and we welcome Niteclif to the Mythosphere, and we look forward to more excitement in Book II of her trilogy, which will be published soon. Tompkins lives in Newnan and is a member of the Coweta Writers Group.
