Stoney Setzer Debuts With Collection of "Twilight Zone" Type Short Stories
A review of
Stoney M. Setzer Zero Hour: Stories of Spiritual Suspense (ResAliens Press, 2011)
$14.95 176 pp ISBN-10: 1456324128 ISBN-13: 978-1456324124
Stoney Setzer, who hails from Griffin, joined the burgeoning Southside book writing/publishing scene last year with a collection of fifteen short stories which he describes as "spiritual suspense". A more specific and very helpful designation would be stories like those found on the television show Twilight Zone. In fact, after reading this book I am sure you will agree with my conclusion that these stories should be turned into television program episodes of a new show like the one by Rod Serling. They are just the right type and just the right length for this purpose and are of the same high quality.
The type of spiritual suspense found in these stories is based on the Christian world-view, and most of the stories have explicit references to Christian principles, which is not surprising because Setzer is a serious Christian man, and is one of the latest examples of the rise in the number of Christians who are getting involved in writing and publishing fiction.
